At the heart of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists lies a profound mission: the liberation of the African Mind, empowerment of the African Character, and enlivenment and illumination of the African Spirit. Our chapter is a testament to this enduring mission, operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes that resonate with the core of African Psychology.
We are steadfast in our commitment to promoting and advancing the profession of African Psychology, a field that embraces the richness of African heritage and its profound impact on mental health practices. Our efforts are geared towards influencing and affecting social change, advocating for policies and practices that reflect the true diversity and complexity of human experiences.
Central to our purpose is the development of programs that empower Black Psychologists to address and solve the pressing problems of Black communities and other ethnic groups. Through collaboration, research, and community engagement, we strive to create a world where psychological health is understood, valued, and accessible to all.
We are committed to developing programs that enable Black psychologists to assist in solving problems of Black communities, fostering an environment of understanding and growth. Our chapter is a vibrant hub for professionals, students, and the community, offering mentorship, support, and a platform for collective action.
Through our various initiatives and events, including student welcomes, cultural celebrations, and professional gatherings, we aim to strengthen the bonds within our community and uphold the precepts, goals, and objectives of our National Chapter. Join us in our endeavor to create a world where psychological health is recognized as a cornerstone of overall well-being.
Join us as we continue to forge pathways for healing, understanding, and growth, honoring the legacy of our ancestors while paving the way for future generations.
